Anne-Maria got married this August
Anna-Maria D’Amato and Robin David Beavis got hitched on Saturday 15th August 2009 at St Teresa’s Catholic Church in Beaconsfield with the Marquee reception at Hall Barn Estate, Beaconsfield. The sun shone and band rocked!!!
For the last year and a half as well as making dresses for all my wonderful clients I have been busy planning my own wedding and making dresses for my 4 adult bridesmaids and my 3 flower girls who were all 2 years old. I designed my dress and my very good friend and mentor, Jan Greene made it for me. I completed the look with a Cathedral length train and garter, both I made myself of course. My loving Groom and best friend Robin and his groomsmen of 2 Best Men and 3 Ushers went to King and Allen in Surbiton to get their suits tailor made. My father also had his suit made by them. Their service is second to none and the boys loved every minute of being pampered. The suits were Italian wool and only cost £350.
MY DRESS…..
My gorgeous dress was made of 100% ivory duchesse satin, overlaid with French beaded ivory and champagne coloured chantilly lace and pink rose embroidered silk ivory organza. It was backless and was embellished with a huge organza flower in pale pink. I wore a huge net petticoat underneath. My veil was silk ivory tulle with scattered pearls to match my pearl stud earrings that my mother wore on her wedding day 40 years ago. My tiara was of course vintage. My mother bought it for me from an antique shop and is dated to the Edwardian era. My shoes were by Schuh and were called Courtesan, they looked like 18th century baroque shoes with felt flowers and beads decorating the toe.
MY BRIDESMAIDS…..
My adult girls who were my sister, my best friend and my 2 new sister-in-laws wore shimmer pink raw silk gowns, the colour matched the pink of my rose embroidered organza, and were inspired by the 1950s. Each girl had a pale pink net petticoat underneath which was trimmed with a pink ribbon on the hem. I didn’t stick to the traditional dress them all the same because I believe that you should dress to your shape. I gave each girl the neckline that suited them. It worked a treat. The dress skirts were cut the same and they all had a wide cream sash tied in a bow at the back so they matched to an extent but had their own individual element too.
My beautiful flower girls, my cousin, my niece and my god-daughter, all blonde 2 years olds wore cappuccino raw silk with flower appliquéd organza with puff sleeves. Their gowns were ankle length with a net petticoat and their sash matched the older girls whereas their frocks matched the boy’s ties.
Their shoes were satin with a beaded flower on the toe. I gave them each a soft cream bolero style cardigan from Monsoon that I had appliquéd cream velvet flowers onto.
